A visit to the Dajti National Park is a great way to spend a day in an attractive mountainous landscape outside and literally ‘above' the city.
National park of Dajti has a surfice of 3000 hectares. Dajti terrace is located 1000 m above the sea level .It is 2 km long and about 600-800 m wider.Dajti mountain has the form of a camel. It is called the Balcony of Tirana for its amazing wonderful panorama,where is possible to see the sea horizon line of Durres coast.Travel by car from the hotel/Durres till Dajti Park takes about 1.5 hours. Dajti offers hiking, excursions, mountain climbing, camping and cable car trip. Wonderful restaurants with traditional cuisine are in the area.
There are many nice restaurants in Mount Dajti. Those who would like to enjoy lunch at any of these restaurants are free to do so at their own expense. This tour starts with a relaxed trip up the mountain by car. The panorama offers a great view over Tirana and it's surroundings.
Once we arrive at the top, the tour hits a well-trodden trail that winds through the oak forest to the Cherry Pass, which runs between the two peaks of Dajti. The tour continues further along the trail, with continuous views of the western lowlands of Albania and the Adriatic coast. After a snack break near the peak, we start walking back towards the cable car station for another quick ride to Tirana.
The tour itinerary is as follows:
09:00 - meet the guide
10:30 - arrival in National Dajti Park
11:45 - reach Cherry Pass and enjoy a short break
13:00 - start walking back down
13:15 - short break for lunch
14:30 - back to Tirana
16:00 - Return to hotel
