Day 1. Belgrade
Arrival to the airport and transfer to the city for sightseeing tour. Dinner with traditional music will be organized at the old bohemian quarter “Skadarlija”. Acommodation in 4 star hotel.Overnight Belgrade.
Day 2. Belgrade
Your morning sightseeing tour includes the city’s main attractions: the imposing Kalemegdan Fortress dramatically situated at the joining of the Sava and Danube Rivers; the Republic Square and Mihajlova Street; Saint Sava Temple, the largest Orthodox Church in the city, and Tito’s Memorial. Enjoy dinner with local live music in a typical national restaurant in the old bohemian quarter of Skadarlija. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3: Belgrade/ Zlatibor (180 km)
We start with a memorable nostalgic 15 km. ride on the old and narrow gauge steam train, “Sarganska Osmica”. Capturing breathtaking scenery through 20 tunnels, 10 bridges and as many viaducts, the trail cut its path through fascinating landscapes of Serbia and Bosnia. Day 4: Zlatibor – Mokra Gora / Visegrad(BiH) Old Bridge – Sarajevo (170 km)
After breakfast Cross River Drina bordering Serbia with Bosnia & Herzegovina. Nestled here at a particularly beautiful viewpoint is Višegrad. Višegrad has a famous stone bridge built by the Ottomans in 1571, by the order of the Mehmed Pasha Sokolovic.
Drive to Sarajevo and sightseeing tour: the old down town with preserved crafts and oriental architecture. 4*Hotel accommodation. Optional,traditional dinner in Bascarsija, the old quarter of Sarajevo –optional, traditional Bosnian meals. Overnight in Sarajevo
Day 5 Sarajevo – Mostar – Dubrovnik (265 km)
After breakfast drive to Mostar and sightseeing tour – the newly rebuilt bridge over Neretva River, the old town, traditional handwork and filigree exhibition. Short leisure time, shopping and traditional branch / Bosnia kebab grilled meat/.Drive to Dubrovnik – the „Pearl of the Adriatic” and sightseeing :Stradun, Pile Gates, old part of Dubrovnik, Franciscan Monastery with its 14th century Pharmacy, Rectors Palace that once used to be the seat of the government of the Dubrovnik Republic, Lovrijenac Tower, Minceta Tower, Revelin Tower.3* hotel accommodation. Day 6, Dubrovnik-Kotor-Budva (115 km)
After breakfast, walking tour of “Old Dubrovnik” this morning; the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column, Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world.After the trip begins passing through Herceg Novi – The first town on the west of Montenegrin coast. First stop is in Risan, a little town on the border of Kotor Bay, known for it’s archeological site with roman mosaics. Continue to Kotor. Visit of the old town, surrounded by 4,5 km long town walls and its cathedral from 12th century. Afternoon, visit of the old town Budva,founded in 4th century B.C. Overnight in a hotel in Budva.
Day 7: Budva – Cetinje-Podgorica- Shkoder (120 km)
Breakfast in the hotel, departure towards Cetinje, former capital of Montenegro. After the arrival to Cetinje, visit of the town and one of numerous museums of Cetinje. Free time for coffee, continue to Podgorica capital city in Montenegro, sightseeing tour and lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch proceed to shkodra,ancient city in Albania. Walking tour to the heritage center of the city where you can see the Watch Tower, Grand church and grand mosque etc. Accommodation in 4 stars hotel. Overnight in Shkodra.
Day 8 : Shkodra – Prizren(Kosovo)-Gjakove (220 km)
After breakfast visit to Rozafa Castle and its museum to learn more about the legend of the buried woman called Rozafat(lucky rose). This castle has been built since the II-nd century.Drive along the brand new highway through wonderful scenery of northern Albania via Kukes to Prizren – Kosovo.Walk along the old quarter of Prizren – the most beautiful town in Kosovo. Proceed to Gjakova.Accommodation in 4 star hotel. Overnight
Day 9 : Gjakova-Decan-Peja – Monastery Gracanica-Skopje (200 km)
Morning A scenic drive to Kosovo . We visit Dečani Monastery and Patriarchate of Peć– both being WHS. Dečani Church boasts the richest and most preserved sculpture from the Romanesque-Gothic style. At the Patriarchate of Peja we visit the oldest church built in the 13th Century. Drive to the Monastery of Gracanica. Visit Gracanica Monastery which was constructed on the ruins of an older 13th century church of the Holy Virgin, which was built on the ruins of a 6th century early Christian basilica. Cross Kosovo to the historical country of Macedonia and drive to the capital city, Skopje tracing its origin from over 2000 years. Our exploration starts with a walking tour of the old town “Charshi”, where lies the Stone Bridge – a symbol of Skopje built by the Ottomans in the 15thC. Here we see the marvels including the Church St. Spas, the Old Bazaar, Fortress Kala (with walls dating back from the 6thC), Mustapha Pasha Mosque (a marvel of Ottoman architecture erected in 1492 with the earliest wall paintings), Daut Pasa Bath (a masterpiece of Islamic architecture from the 15thC). Day 10 : Skopje – Ohrid (170 km)
After breakfast drive to Ohrid,arrival and sightseeing tour around the old town-museum of Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The old part of the town was known in ancient times as Lychnidos, the City of Lights. Slavs gave it the name of Arida in the 10thC, and it became a major center of culture and art for this area. It is the cradle of Slavic written language and literature, from where the alphabet called Cyrillic was created by the two brothers Cyril and Methody. Ohrid is also known as the “City of 365 churches “ and we visit, not all, but the most important ones. Visiting Tsar Smuili fortress from the 10thC, St. Kliment from the 13thC, St. Sophia from the 11th C, and St. Panteleimon from the 9th C., culminating with a walk through the local bazaar. Day 11 : Ohrid -Elbasan – Berat (200 km)
After breakfast drive to Saint Naum Monastery and sightseeing. Drive to border Albania short stop in Pogradec city,and Elbasan Fortress. Proceed to Berat” – the city of one-thousand windows”, an UNESCO Heritage site. to make known the 2400 years of history, testimonial of which,is the castle build on the hills of the city.The visit proceeds to the museum quarter Mangalemi and Gorica. Day 12 : Berat & Gjirokaster (Unesco World Heritage)- (165 km)
After breakfast visit to the castle, built up on a rocky hill 260 m above the sea level. Churches here have survived within its powerful stony walls. With interest, is the church, which preserves wooden-engraved iconostasis, housing the “Onufri” museum,the visit proceeds to the museum quarter Mangalemi and Gorica,The tour proceeds to to stony city of Gjirokastra,UNESCO’s world heritage. Visit at the fortress, built in 4’Th century, the old Bazaar, the characteristic shops of Gjirokastra. Accommodation in hotel 3* Dinner optional, overnight in Gjirokastra
Days 13. Butrinti and Corfu Town, (Unesco -World Heritage) (2 hour of drive + 2 hours by ferry boat)
Our Trip continues to Butrint Archeological park, a World Heritage Site- Visit new excavations of the Roman Colony of Butrint. The trip proceeds to the port of Igoumenitsa and part by ferry to Corfu.Arrival and Visit in Corfu town World Heritage, Visit in the fortress and in the palace of Mon Repos King.In afternoon visit in the old bazaar where there are many shops. Day 14. Departure from Corfu
After the breakfast to the hotel,Free time for leisure depending on the time of departure from Corfu.
